My art goes through a progression of different stages, which parallels the processes of change and transformation. I integrate bits, pieces, and fragments of distinct original materials of my own creation, like painted fabrics, paintings, drawings, photographs of nature, and photographs of mixtures of substances. I put together a composition with these original and traditional materials, and then I transform them digitally by intervening the piece, using computer art software, until I arrive to a final image. My work arrives at a new point, yet maintains unity and balance, while always creating rhythms, movement and a strong sense of space.
My aim is to create a final piece which reflects a transformation and an “evolution” of the original pieces and materials which were combined, to produce a final outcome. As humans, we are constantly feeling and going through changes throughout the different stages of our lives. Besides having physical transformations, we also have mental, emotional, societal, political, and technological ones, ad infinitum. I hope that when the spectator looks at my work he/she/them can go deep into himself, struggle, make efforts, grow, and evolve into a better and transformed individual, who will hopefully impact our world in a positive way.
